Can a Christian really have a demon?
RESPONSE:
We’re sure you’ve heard a lot of the theories out there, like “Satan cannot occupy the same space as the Holy Spirit, therefore, when I became a Christian all the demons left.” Or perhaps you’ve heard the one that goes, “Demons are ONLY outside people, placing thoughts in our minds and tempting us from the outside. Demons cannot be inside Christians.”
How we wish these fables were only true. Unfortunately, that is all these theories are: fables. There is no Biblical basis to stand against the mountain-high stacks of scriptures that say that Christians can and do actually have demons INSIDE them. As Pastor Win Worley put it, “A Christian can have anything he wants.”
For a counter-argument on this subject, please read our FAQ topic “Is Deliverance also for the Unsaved?” In understanding through the scriptures why Deliverance cannot be, nor ever was for the unsaved, the only logical conclusion that can be drawn is that Deliverance is truly the Children’s Bread, meant for Believers only.
